New Medical Center Announced, Services to Expand in Los Gatos
To meet current and forecasted demand for primary and specialty medical care in the South Bay, the Palo Alto Medical Foundation (PAMF) is adding two more medical sites in Los Gatos.
The first site is at 15400 Los Gatos Boulevard, where PAMF will construct a 40,000-square-foot medical center to house primary care (Internal Medicine, Family Medicine and Pediatrics), urgent care, diagnostic imaging, radiology and laboratory services. This new center is expected to open in late 2015. Groundbreaking is expected later this summer.
The second property is a newly renovated 9,000-square-foot building at 15720 Winchester Boulevard. An interior build out of the space will be completed on this leased property by early 2014. This building will house both specialty and primary care physicians, as well as basic radiology and ultrasound services.
PAMF opened its first site in Los Gatos in April 2012 and currently leases five physician offices for 30 physicians (suites at 2400 and 2577 Samaritan Drive). In addition, PAMF has a fertility practice with a laboratory and a two-room surgical suite.
Elizabeth Vilardo, M.D., PAMF’s divisional president, who oversees medical operations in the South Bay, said, “Our goal is to be an integral part of the local health care community. All of our Los Gatos clinics are near one another so we can offer integrated care while we eagerly await the grand opening of the new medical center in 2015.”
If a PAMF Los Gatos patient requires admission to a hospital, they will decide with their physician if they will go to El Camino Los Gatos or Good Samaritan Hospital locally, or El Camino Hospital in Mountain View if they prefer. PAMF physicians have privileges at all three hospitals. They also work with onsite hospitalists to collaborate on inpatient care.
PAMF is the first Sutter Health affiliate in the Los Gatos/West San Jose area. The Sutter Health network of care includes many of California’s top-performing, highest quality physician organizations as measured annually by the Integrated Healthcare Association. PAMF’s 1,100 affiliated physicians and 3,400 employees serve more than 800,000 patients at its medical centers and clinics in Alameda, San Mateo, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties.
